Frost Master Winter Peas (Pisum sativum subsp. arvense) - Certified Organic seed. An excellent nitrogen-fixing cover crop pea that breaks down quickly after incorporation into the soil.  Planted in the Fall for over-Wintering (good Winter hardiness) or in the Spring. Produces large leaves on long vines. Often planted with grains for a climbing companion. Out produces the Austrian Winter pea in bulk and tonnage creating lots of biomass. In addition to its bulk, FrostMaster is a white pea, indicating the absence of tannin (the compound that causes bitterness and purple flowers), which makes it a sweeter pea that is a terrific forage crop for livestock. Use 75-100 lbs/acre. Type the amount of pounds wanted into the quantiy box.
