McPhail trap used extensively for both monitoring and mass trapping of Olive Fruit Fly. A plastic two part trap. The upper clear part also has a green basket for pheromone attractant. The yellow bottom cup part is filled with a yeast in water solution. Place 3-4 Torula Yeast Lure tablets (see item number below) in bottom of trap and fill with water. The Olive Fruit Fly is attracted to the yeast solution, enters thru a hole in the bottom part of the trap. Once in the trap the fly can not figure out how to get back out, gets tired and falls into the water. In warm weather replace the water as it evaporates. Replace the solution monthly.
