Potassium bicarbonate is a curative fungicide recommended for control of powdery mildew. Potassium ion balance in the fungus cell is considered to be broken by the spray, causing the cell wall to collapse and cell shrinks without maintaining its structure. As a contact fungicide, direct contact with fungus organs is necessary to achieve control. Milstop contains 85% potassium bicarbonate, 15% inert ingredients. Most uses, 5 lbs/acre in enough water to cover the crop. Registered for every crop susceptible to powdery mildew: vegetables, fruits, berries, grains, herbs, hops, ornamentals, roses and turf.
