Pre-made gopher baskets, made from 20 guage 3/4" hexagonal wire mesh that is hot-dipped galvanized before weaving and specially designed for tree planting. The wire is galvanized before weaving because the weaving process creates cracks in the galvanization. This is done so the wire will break down sooner and root girdling will be avoided. The basket should last 2-5 years giving the tree enough time to get established and mature enough to resist damage from gnawing gophers. No more cutting your own baskets!
