Product Description

in.Encarsia formosa in.: this tiny parasitic wasp attacks the 2nd and 3rd instar of greenhouse, in.Trialeurodes vaporiorum in., and sweet potato or silverleaf whiteflies, in.Bemisia tabaci in., (the scale stage). Please note this parasite will not control ash whitefly. Once the whitefly has been parasitized, it turns a black color so within a very short time you can visibly see if you are making progress against whiteflies. If the average temperature is less than 70 deg. F., this parasite will not outbreed the whitefly. Higher release rates are often needed in cool pockets of greenhouses (such as in front of evaporative coolers). Parasites are shipped as parasitized scale which are attached to cards for hanging on plants in the greenhouse. Separate the small cards at the perforations and distribute evenly through the greenhouse, putting more in areas with highest whitefly infestation. GREENHOUSE: low pop: 1 whitefly or less/5 plants. Release 1 parasite/plant. High pop: 1 whitefly/5 plants. Release 5 parasites/plant. Use at least 2 parasites/sq.ft. whitefly infested areas. Repeat releases 3 times at two week intervals for a total of 4 releases. Begin as soon as whiteflies are seen or better yet when they normally show up, preferably when 2nd or 3rd instars are present. Do not attempt releases if you have more than 1 whitefly/plant. ***Must Ship Next Day Air. Ship on Tuesday only.***
